Posted by Women of Greater Portland, ages 13 and older, will be offered the opportunity by the Portland Police Department to participate in a Rape Aggression Defense training course this February. The classes will teach women basic self defense skills to help them protect themselves from dangerous situations. The five part class is scheduled for February 2, 4, 9, and 11 from 6 to 9pm, and for February 13 from 8am-12pm, at the Portland Police Department at 109 Middle Street.
A suggested donation of $25 will support the Amy St. Laurent Fund, which sponsors R.A.D. trainings throughout the area. For more information, please call 874-8643, or email ppdrad@portlandmaine.gov.
