Pat’s Pizza Old Port – A Closer Look Inside

Pat’s Pizza in Portland’s Old Port has been open just over 6 months now (opened April 26, 2010) at 30 Market Street, Portland, and we recently had a chance to catch up with the owner and to take a closer look inside and learn more about the business. Here’s a YouTube video created by the talented Ogden Media of Portland, Maine.

Check out our previous post Pat’s Pizza has a New Home in Portland’s Old Port, a review of the restaurant in August 2010.

Pat’s Pizza New Home in Portland’s Old Port

Pat’s Pizza, an icon for years in Orono, has thankfully arrived in Portland’s Old Port at 30 Market Street. Owner Chris Tyll, has done a wonderful job capturing the well-known Pat’s taste and wide variety of menu options beyond pizzas, burgers, and sandwiches.

Pat’s Pizza Old Port offers signature pizzas much like the new trend we have come to enjoy from the likes of their competition, Portland Pie Co. and Siano’s Pizzeria, though the mainstay offerings like pepperoni, meat lovers, and taco pizza are available as well at affordable prices. A fourteen inch one topping pizza is $10.20, and $3.20 will get you a delicious hamburger. Oh, and did I mention Pat’s makes their dough fresh daily, you can request whole wheat or low carb dough, and they even offer a gluten free option.

Having grown up in Orono, I can appreciate the Old Port locations’ authentic delivery of a taste I vividly remember and the wonderful pizza oven smell I was reminded of during a recent visit back to Mill Street in Orono, site of the original Pat’s Pizza. The Old Port location is wonderful; slightly off the beaten path of Fore Street, features a well done dark wood interior and full length bar separate from the dining room area, and offers a great family dining experience, along with a great place to catch up casually after work for a cold relaxing beverage.

Grabbing the take out menu upon my departure for the evening, I read on the back cover that the restaurant is “disable veteran-owned and operated”, and of course is a local family owned business. We also noted that they have a number of LCD televisions to catch all the sporting events and a banquet room with a projector for meetings or events in town.
