New Year’s Eve 2015 in Portland!

Each year here at ILPM we try and highlight some of our favorite New Year’s events!  It’s becoming harder and harder each year to talk about/cover all of them in a city that does so much for one night!  Here are a few of our favorites for the big night as we say goodbye to 2014!



-Grace New Year’s Eve Bash

Location:  Grace Restaurant, 15 Chestnut Street, Portland.

Time:  9pm


This is the 6th New Year’s Eve Bash Grace as had!  This year they are changing it up a bit to provide the best possible party!  This will be a ticket only event, so you can avoid the lines!  You will be greeted with a champagne toast upon arrival, dance the night away with a fantastic DJ and ring in the new year with us and 250 new friends.  Again, this will be a ticket only event with proceeds of the ticket sales going to support the important work of Good Shepard Food Bank!








Children’s Museum New Year’s at Noon and New Year’s at 2. 

Location:  Maine Children’s Museum, 142 Free St, Portland.

Time:  10AM-12PM

This is family friendly version of a New Year’s Eve Celebration!  The Museum will host their annual New Year’s Party for kids.  New Year’s at Noon (starting little early this year) will feature lots of fun for the little ones, along with 500 balloons!  The New Year’s PJ Party is free with Admission.

From 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM…

If you want to celebrate New Year’s in a quieter fashion with “hat-making and merriment”.  The event is free with Admission. Please note…

Midnight Masquerade- Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks

Location- Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks, Grand Ballroom, 200 Sable Oaks Drive, South Portland.

Time:  Events starting at 6:30pm.

Thanks to our friend Anestes at for their New Year’s Eve dining list – a rather comprehensive piece dedicated to those looking to enjoy a great dining experience as part of their celebration of 2012 and welcoming of 2013. Here you go…

According to here’s a list of restaurants that will be open on New Year’s Eve. Many are planning special prix fixe dinners and a few will be open with their standard menu. If you know of any other options, post a comment with the details and we’ll add them to the list.

Everyone and their cousin wants to go out on New Year’s Eve so reservations are essential. recommends you call soon before all the good spots get booked up.

  • Back Bay Grill, $88 4-course dinner
  • Bar Lola, $55 5-course dinner
  • Bibo’s Madd Apple Cafe, $50 4-course dinner
  • Bresca, $85 5-course Venetian-inspired meal with optional wine pairings for $35
  • Carmen at the Danforth will offer 2 seatings. The early seating is $80 for a 4-course dinner, the later seating is $125 for a 5-course dinner with live music.
  • East Ender, $58 for a 4-course dinner
  • Five Fifty-Five, 1920s prohibition theme $75 3-course dinner in the bar, $100 5-course dinner in the restaurant
  • Grace will be serving their regular dinner menu. A cover charge of $10 will get you into the late night party which comes with complementary champagne toast at midnight.
  • Hugo’s, $80 7-course dinner
  • Local Sprouts will be open until midnight serving their standard menu
  • Maria’s, $45, 3-course dinner
  • Nosh Kitchen Bar, tickets are $20
  • Sea Glass at Inn by the Sea, $75 4-course menu, $100 with wine pairings

  • The Good Table, will be serving a special New Year’s Eve menu
  • The Frog and Turtle, $45 for a 3-courses early seating, $65 for 5-course plus extras later seating

Portland Pirates Hockey New Years Eve 2011 Game and Fireworks

On New Years Eve the Portland Pirates will once again celebrate the entrance into a new year with their 17th annual Kid’s New Year’s Celebration. Saturday Night is Hockey Night in Portland and on Saturday, December 31, 2011, Bud Light will sponsor the promotional event as the Pirates take to the ice against the Worcester Sharks. TheNew Years Eve game is usually a sell out, as their is a fireworks display at the conclusion of the game that is deemed “New England’s largest indoor fireworks display. Portland Maine All Night New Years Eve 2012 Party at Rack’s

Rack’s Sports Bar & Grille at 272 St. John Street, Portland will host Portland, Maine’s only All Night New Years Eve Party December 31, 2011.

This 21+ event will begin at 9PM and last until 5AM. Yes, that’s right 5AM. Please note that doors will close at 2AM and the bar will close at 2AM). According to their flyer, Bone Fish states that “you need to be here by 2 a.m. to dance & play pool after hours until 5a.m”.

The event will feature “some damn fine DJ’s dropping Electronic Dance music” including:
Elusid, Nocturnal, Psydways, RahJahh, Silverchild, Skittlez, V1rus, CheRos, & Don Dami.

Restaurant New Years Eve events – according to Portland Food Maps Event Calendar, the following restaurants in Greater Portland will be having special menus and/or events to celebrate the New Year; Havana South, Five Fifty-Five, Bar Lola, Bibo’s, Cinque Terra, Vignola, Figa, Inn By The Sea, and The Frog & Turtle….with additional venues likely to add details so continue to check the above mentioned event calendar leading up the New Years Eve in Portland, though be sure to act quick as spots likely fill up fast with NYE being a Friday night.
