Dropkick Murphys to Join Mumford & Sons at Eastern Prom Show

As if the upcoming Mumford & Sons show couldn’t get any cooler…Dropkick Murphys will be joining the band for its all-day show on the Eastern Prom August 4th.

The “Gentlemen of the Road Stopover” show will go from noon to 9 p.m. and will feature several bands, including St. Vincent, Dawes, The Maccabees, Apache Relay, Simone Felice, and Haim.

Following their performance with Mumford & Sons, Dropkick Murphys will perform again at the State Theatre with the Parkington Sisters at 10:30 p.m. Tickets for the show are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday at statetheatreportland.com

Didn’t Get Mumford & Sons Tickets? You Still Have a Chance to See Them

The Mumford & Sons concert on August 4 may have sold out within hours, but there is still a chance to see them live!

On August 3, the band will be performing a free concert at Bull Moose Music in Scarborough to a limited number of people who pre-order their new album “Babel” starting on Tuesday. The time has not yet been determined.

L.L. Bean Celebrating 100 Years With 4-Day Event

Happy birthday L.L. Bean! It’s been 100 years since the retailer opened its doors in Freeport, and to celebrate, is hosting  a 4-day extravaganza.

The event began on Thursday and will continue through the weekend.

Today, there is a farmer’s market from 12 – 5 p.m. at the Coyote parking lot, with arts and crafts for children to enjoy.

From 5 to 6:10 p.m., Lissa Schneckenburger will be performing blues and folk music. From 6:30 – 7:40 p.m. Jason Spooner will be singing roots rock, and from 8 – 9:15 p.m., Ryan Montbleau will perform folk and blues. All of the musical performances will be held in Discovery Park.

On Saturday, there will be an L.L. Bean Adventure Park from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. with inflatable toys, games, crafts, and music.

From 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., there will be a variety of performances for all to enjoy. This will include juggling, comedy, and music at the Puffin Park, near the Bike, Boat, and Ski Store.

At 7:30 p.m. Chris Isaak will entertain the crowds at Discovery Park.

The grand finale of the event will be fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m.

North Atlantic Blues Festival July 14 – 15

Are you a blues lover? Don’t miss the fantastic North Atlantic Blues Festival if you are!

This year’s lineup features Tab Benoit, Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band, Royal Southern Brotherhood, John Mayall, and more!

The festival goes from July 14 – 15, starting at 11 a.m. at Harbor Park in Rockland. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 for a one-day pass the day of. For two-day passes, they’re $50, or $70 the day of.

Bush Coming to Portland

Alternative rock band Bush has been around for 20 years and will be touring to celebrate with their album “The Sea of Memories“.

They’ll be performing at The State Theatre (609 Congress St) in Portland on July 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 the day of the show.

Come reminisce with your old favorites, whether it be “Glycerine” or “Everything Zen”!

Await Rescue Coming to Flask Lounge This Saturday

If you’re looking for some great and diverse music, look no further. Await Rescue with special guests Loki, Lord Earth & Mines of Paris will be performing at Flask Lounge (117 Spring Street in Portland) at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 23.

Boston-rockers Await Rescue (think Foo Fighters meets Every Time I Die) will be making their first ever trek to Portland. If you have all but given up on rock music due to the genre’s current stale state, come to Flask Lounge on June 23rd to have your faith restored.

For those who love the Celtic punk band Flogging Molly, you’re in luck – they will be performing at The State Theatre this Saturday at 8 p.m.

The band is celebrating its 10th anniversary and will be performing music from several albums.

The Carmina Burana (“Musical Weekend”) is coming up soon to Merrill Auditorium, featuring the University of Southern Maine’s Concert Band, Chorale and Chamber Singers, and more than 50 alumni for a fantastic performance.

Master classes led by USM School of Music alumni in Corthell Hall, 37 College Avenue, Gorham.
