Downtown Showdown! Downtown Showdown! If you saw it last year, you know what I am taking about. Head to Monument Square early this Friday, February 11, for some great entertainment. Once again Sunday River and Sugarloaf ski resorts team up to bring you The Downtown Showdown, an exciting urban rail jam, where snowboarders and skiers will show off their moves to the awe of the downtown Portland spectators.
The Downtown Showdown will run from 5pm to 7pm in Monument Square. There will be a warm up starting likely around 4pm, just before the crowds start pouring out of work and making a stop before heading to happy hour. You’ll likely see scaffolding and snow being brought into downtown Portland to construct the rails and ramps. This year there should not be an issue about finding enough snow. At last years Downtown Showdown the crowds were huge, so be sure to arrive early and grab a spot. Enjoy the show!!

Please join the Frannie Peabody Center in Monument Square on Tuesday, December 1, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm as they recognize World Aids Day with a Vigil, and a proclamation by Portland Mayor Jill Duson.
