Where to Buy Tickets To Louis C.K. at the Merrill Auditorium

Louis C.K. Visits Portland Maine

Louis C.K. To Visit Merrill Auditorium in Portland, Maine

Louis C.K. — an Emmy Award-winning, Mexican-American stand-up comedian, television and film writer, actor, editor, and director who appeared on SNL with FUN this weekend — is slated to visit Portland, Maine’s Merrill Auditorium this Wednesday November 7th at 7:00PM.

ILPM suspects he’ll provide some much-needed comic-relief following Election Day… rumor has it tickets are completely sold out through Merrill, but we’ve seen some pop up this morning on Stub Hub for around $200.  And you can always check the highly reputable Craigslist for last-minute ticket deals, too 😉

Good luck and let us know how the show was!

Black Frame Art Sale 2009 – This Friday Night!

This Friday, for one night only, art lovers will be flocking to the Merrill Auditorium Rehearsal Hall at 20 Myrtle St, Portland, in search of great pieces to add to their collections.

The Black Frame Art Sale, now in its sixth year, continues to draw ever increasing crowds of art enthusiasts and collectors seeking the works of their favorite local artists. Even if you’re a novice and up from a fun night out, you will greatly enjoy this event.

Curious of the format and what to expect? Well, the event is a first-come, first-served art sale with some enthusiasts lining up for last years event an hour prior to the doors opening (and it was raining last year!).

There will be more than 250 pieces on display and for sale, each  in 10 inch by 10 inch black frames, and will be sold for only $200. I understand this is quite a bargain for many of the works, as a few of the artists have created quite a following over the years. Further, the works were selected by a curatorial committee for inclusion in the show, thus you know you will be viewing amazing pieces of art this Friday evening.

Doors open at 5pm, with the event running until 9pm. You will want to arrive early for sure, as explained above to ensure you get your pick of the litter, especially if you have a particular artists work you are after. The Black Frame Art Sale is hosted by the Bayside Neighborhood Association, and the proceeds from the show benefit art programs for children and other Bayside community activities.

For more information on the event, please visit their website at BlackFrameArtSale.com
