Charity Hockey Game Featuring Portland Pirates March 11

The 2nd Annual Maine Center on Deafness charity hockey game will be held March 11 at 1 p.m. at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

All proceeds raised will benefit the Maine Center on Deafness.

The Southern Maine Law Enforcement All Stars will first battle it out with the Sebago Brewing All Stars, followed by the BIW Ironclad Hockey team in the first games, and will be followed by the Portland Pirates vs. the Providence Bruins at 4 p.m. Tickets will be good for both the charity game and the Pirates game that day.

A raffle will be held during the charity game for several different items, with proceeds going to Ruth’s Library Project at the Governor Baxter School For the Deaf. The project was started last year and is in memory of Ruth Merrill and her love for reading.

Montreal Canadiens vs. BIW Ironclad Hockey Benefit

guy-lafleurHockey fans, I know this is Boston Bruins country, but when else will you get a chance to see NHL Hall of Famers, a team who has won 31 Stanley Cups amongst them, and see two players, Guy LaFleur and Larry Robinson, both ranked in the Top 25 of The Hockey News’ Top 100 Greatest NHL Players of All-Time.

On Sunday, October 11, 2009, at 2pm the Cumberland County Civic Center will host a great charity hockey event between the Montreal Canadiens Alumni Team and the Bath Iron Works Ironclad Hockey Team.

We know the support for hockey is strong here in Maine and I trust there will be a great turnout for the event to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Again, you’ll witness some hockey greats including; Guy LaFleur, Larry Robinson, Steve Shutt, Normand Dupont, Yvon Lambert, Patrice Brisebois, Sergio Momesso, Serge Boisvert,  Gilbert Dionne, Donald Audette, Lucien Deblois, Richard Sevigny, Gilbert DeLorme, Gaston Gingras, and Karl Dykhuis.

Tickets to the Montreal Canadiens vs. BIW Ironclad can be purchased via Ticketmaster – Montreal Canadiens or at the Cumberland County Civic Center Box Office.

Enjoy the show! Hopefully a chance for fans to grab some autographs!
