Portland, ME can’t stop making Top 10 Lists, this time coming in 1st for summer jobs, according to a study by The Daily Beast.

The study took into account the unemployment rate for people age 16-24, with the most recent data from the U.S. Census, and the overall summer employment bump for 2011, with data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Way to go Portland!

Forbes Names Portland Among Best U.S. Cities For Jobs

Looking for work in a tough economy? Try Portland, Maine.

The Portland – South Portland – Biddeford area has been named among the best cities in the country for finding work, according to Forbes.com.

The rank is based on a survey of employers by ManpowerGroup, an employment services company. According to the survey,the Portland area has a “net employment outlook” of 19% for the second quarter of 2012.

That number is calculated based on the percentage of employers who plan on increasing their staffs and the percentage who expect to reduce their numbers.

Portland has a lot to offer potential residents, and employment is one of the key reasons to check out our unique city!

Job Fair at USM Tomorrow

The University of Southern Maine‘s annual Job Fair will be held tomorrow from 12 – 4:30 p.m. in the Sullivan Gym on the Portland campus.

The fair is open to students from all areas, and will include lunch. Participants will get a chance to discuss career opportunities in the area and make great connections.
