Maine Red Claws Red-White Game to Support Deering High School Athletics

The Maine Red Claws D-League Basketball team announced they will play an intra-squad scrimmage at Deering High School on Saturday, November 13 at 7 pm, with all proceeds from the game benefiting Deering High School athletics. Tickets for the scrimmage are $5 and available by calling 871-7126 or emailing DHSButler13@gmail.com.

The game will also feature a halftime performance by the Lady Red Claws dance team. According to Jon Jennings, Maine Red Claws President and General Manager, the basketball team plans to make fundraising events for schools an annual tradition.

Cheers to the Maine Red Claws for once again giving back to the community where they live!

Actress Anna Kendrick

From Portland, Maine to Hollywood, by way of New York City and many points in between, Anna Kendrick has once again made a name for herself on and off screen. The twenty-four year old, originally from Portland has recently received a number of prestigious nominations as Best Supporting Actress for her role as Natalie Keener in the new release Up In The Air, starring George Clooney.

Deering High School can now add another actress to their notable alumni (Andrea Martin and Linda Lavin) and Anna Kendrick is sure to grow as her talent receives more and more recognition.

For those who have yet to see Up In The Air, you will recall Anna played Jessica Stanley in the ever popular Twilight series; Twilight, New Moon, and the upcoming release Eclipse.
