Dropkick Murphys to Join Mumford & Sons at Eastern Prom Show

As if the upcoming Mumford & Sons show couldn’t get any cooler…Dropkick Murphys will be joining the band for its all-day show on the Eastern Prom August 4th.

The “Gentlemen of the Road Stopover” show will go from noon to 9 p.m. and will feature several bands, including St. Vincent, Dawes, The Maccabees, Apache Relay, Simone Felice, and Haim.

Following their performance with Mumford & Sons, Dropkick Murphys will perform again at the State Theatre with the Parkington Sisters at 10:30 p.m. Tickets for the show are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday at statetheatreportland.com

Elykssor Clothing Announces 4th Annual Charity Concert

Local clothing company Elykssor will be hosting its fourth annual concert this Saturday, June 2, to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

The concert, which begins at 8:00 p.m. at Asylum, will feature musical acts Spose and The Mallet Brothers Band.

Baxter Brewing Company will be offering pint specials. There will also be limited Elykssor merchandise available for purchase at the concert.

Tickets to the show are $13, or $15 at the door.

Elykssor is a Portland-based music-centered clothing company, founded by Kyle Poissonnier.

Mumford & Sons Tickets Available June 1st For Portland Concert

Mumford & Sons to Perform at Portland’s Eastern Promendade

Folk rock fans better get ready – Mumford & Sons is coming to Portland, Maine this summer.

City council has approved the band to perform at the Eastern Promenade. The concert is expected to be Portland’s largest outdoor event (other than 4th of July celebrations) in years.

The concert, called “Gentlemen of the Road” and hosted by the State Theatre, will be on August 4, with gates opening at noon. There will be several local bands performing throughout the day, at Mumford & Sons, the main attraction, will play in the evening.

Portland is one of four cities in the country, and eight worldwide, that will host the band’s 2012 tour.

No information on ticket prices or purchase dates has been released at the moment, but we will keep you posted as the details are available.

Snoop Dogg Adds Another Show to State Theatre Visit

Mainers can’t get enough of Snoop Dogg…fo shizzle. The rapper and hip hop icon has added another show to the lineup when he visits the State Theatre in Portland on March 30. The late show will begin at 11:00 p.m. Tickets will be $40 in advance and $45 at the door (if any are left). The tickets will go on sale March 8.

What Are You Doing This Weekend?

Friday, Feb. 10 – Listen to The James Montgomery Blues Band with Barrence Whitfield and David Hull at the Port City Music Hall at 7 pm. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 the day of the show, $30 VIP. Click here for more information.

Wednesday: Matt Nathanson Comes to the State Theatre

Don’t miss this concert from world-famous musician Matt Nathanson, known for hits like “Come On Get Higher”, “Car Crash”, and “All We Are”.
