Bruce Roberts Toy Fund

The Bruce Roberts Toy Fund, a non-profit organization, is now going 61 years strong (founded in 1949) continues to accept applications from families in need who are not able to deliver toys to their children during the holidays. Last year the fund raised over $260,000, a record since the funds’ existence, and will deliver toys to thousands of children this year, as funds from the prior year go towards purchasing toys in bulk for the coming holiday season. If you have the ability to donate, please do so to help bring a smile to a child’s face during the holidays.

Applications are still being accepted through December 10, 2010. The Bruce Roberts Toy Fund benefits families in York, Cumberland, Sagadahoc, Lincoln and Knox counties and families are asked to describe their situation, their needs and the ages of their children. Applications are available at the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram, Salvation Army offices throughout the five-county area, the United Way, and many other local service organizations. Applications are also available within the Portland Press Herald/Telegram during leading up to the holiday season.
