Travel Channel’s Man vs. Food films in Portland, airing in September

In early July, Adam Richman, host of the Travel Channel’s “Man vs. Food” visited a few area restaurants where they filmed segments for a show believed to air in early/mid-September. While in Portland, the show visited Nosh Kitchen Bar at 551 Congress Street to see how Richman could handle the “Apocalypse Now”, noted on the Nosh Kitchen Bar Menu, as a burger containing seared pork belly, american cheese, cured bacon, foie gras, house mayo, and macerated orange and cherries for $20. Another visit was paid to the Tradewinds Cafe off Route 1 in Arundel (1697 Portland Road).

At Tradewinds Cafe, Richman took the famous Manimal Challengeconsume two loaded kraut or slaw dogs, an eight patty cheeseburger, a small order of fries, a can Moxie, and a one pound milkshake in less than 20 minutes.

According to EatsFeats.com, Matt Stonie owns the record of the Manimal Challenge having completed the feat in 5 minutes, while only 3 others have accomplished the feat. We’re not sure whether Adam Richman was one of the other 3 and no one is talking, so I guess we’ll have to wait until the show airs to see. More details on the airing of the show to follow as soon as we hear.

While in town, Richman gave a shout out to the Portland Harbor Hotel via his Twitter account.
