Downtown Portland will be packed with hundreds of artists and thousands of visitors Saturday, August 28 for the 45th Annual WCSH6 Sidewalk Art Festival, the oldest and largest one-day art show in Northern New England. The sidewalk art festival is held on Congress Street from Park Street to Monument Square, through Monument Walk to Temple Street, with Congress Street closed to motor vehicle traffic thus creating a seven block pedestrian-friendly atmosphere to peruse the works of art. The event takes place from 9am to 4pm.

There will be numerous works of art for sale at all price points and including watercolors, photography, oil, and acrylic paintings. Additionally, the Sidewalk Arts Festival is a professionally judged show with four cash prizes awarded. Each participant in the arts festival may submit one piece of their work for consideration by the judges.

For information on the artists participating, please check out the Sidewalk Arts Festival & Auto Show Brochure.

While you’re at the festival, check out the 10th Annual WCSH6 Downtown Auto Show at the WCSH6 studios at the corner of High Street and Congress, featuring a number of classic cars. The weather looks too gorgeous to not be outside Saturday for either of these events. Enjoy the show!
